| Many people contact us with financial burdens and seeking how to be pleasing to God in their giving of tithes and offerings. And ask; why do things seem to work for some and not for others. First let me say that Acts 10:34 tells us that God is no respecter of persons. So if one gets blessed in their giving, than all can. Gods Word is the title deed of His promises to us and Jeremiah 1:12 tells us that He will hasten His Word to perform it. So if it seems that we are not reaping a harvest off of our giving, let us examine the scripture to see if there is something we are missing. I have heard all kinds of theories about the tithe, and does it belong to God, or was it part of the Law and done away with at the cross. Hebrews 7:1 and Genesis 14 talks about Abraham giving the tenth to Melchizedek the priest of the Most High God. And that was long before the law came into effect. Lets look at Matthew 5:18 - For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth have not passed yet. But Galatians 3:13 tells us Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 it says He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. If you dig into the word righteousness (Which means right standing with God), it will not be long until you are directed to the word justified, or justification. And there you will find out that in fact, when you made Jesus Lord of your life, than the fulfillment of the Law by Jesus, was also imputed to you! So in the eyes of God, not only did Christ fulfill the Law, but you did too! Therefore all the benefits and none of the Curses are yours! Talk about Grace! That means all the blessings promised in the Old Testament, belong to me as well. Galatians 3:29 tells us, And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. What was the promise? Look at Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. God wants us to be blessed, so that we can be a blessing to others! It takes money to fund the Gospel and support those who are taking the Word of God forth into the earth. Without it, or without enough, than we are limited as to what we can do! Malachi 3:10 says Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. This Word of God is as alive today as it was back then! God says: Prove Me now herewith! It is easier to have Faith and believe God, if you are a doer of the Word, than it is if you are not! If you are a doer of the Word, than you can go to God with all confidence and tell Him, Lord you said in your Word if I would bring my tithes into the storehouse, that you would pour me out a blessing that is so big I couldn't even receive it. Lord, I believe you and I believe your Word and I am expecting it to come to pass in my life! That is a prayer that will move God! Whenever we take Gods Word to Him, if we are a doer of that Word, than He always honors it! Every time! Remember this; God can not Lie! So trust His Word! You can depend on Him. People ask, should I tithe on the gross, or net amount? Well, do you want a gross blessing or net blessing? I think most people would agree with tithing on the increase! But you can not out give God. Remember this, God looks on the heart. Look at 2 Corinthians 9:6 - But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Always offer to God your best of your first fruits. Proverbs 3:9 - Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Do you want your barns to be filled with plenty? Be a doer of the Word! God promised in Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. All through the Bible we see where God blesses those who are faithful and of an upright heart towards Him. 3 John 2 tells us Gods will, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. And Proverbs 13:22 says: A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. In my own life, I have discovered 2 things that work. 1. Be a cheerful giver in all areas of my life and 2. Give in Faith believing God's Word is Truth! Remember Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Always give unto God your best, and He will multiply that same blessing back to you! You can also prosper by tithing your time to God! If the tithe is 10 percent, note that diligence must go beyond that! Try tithing 2hrs. and 40min. each day to God and His Word and watch what happens in your life! God's Word will become a reality in your life! God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Be a doer of the Word, and not just a hearer only! And be a giver! If God can get it through you, he will get it to you! If you feel like you can't give, ask God who gives seed to the sower to help you. The law of genesis is that every seed produces after it's own kind! If you need money, sew money. If you need food, sew food. If you need clothes, sew clothes, If you need friends, sew friendship, etc... Remember too, that God delights to show you how these things work! Everything God did, He did for you! So ask Him to give you wisdom and a revelation of how these things work. And be open and obedient to do want He tells you to do! Then watch what He will do for you! God loves you and wants to be your partner in every area of your life! And He will bless you! Pray this prayer over your seed. |
